These Terms govern your use of Permisyn — the authorization and evidence layer we run in front of your AI provider calls. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

1. The service

Permisyn authorizes AI provider calls before they reach the upstream model, enforces the limits and rules you configure (a "passport"), and produces a signed, independently verifiable record of each decision. You keep your existing AI provider client and point it at Permisyn; we are the authorization layer, not a replacement for the provider itself.

2. Your account

• You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials and API keys confidential.
• You’re responsible for activity that happens under your account and API keys — if a key is compromised, rotate it immediately from Settings.
• One account generally represents one organization; if your team grows, invite teammates rather than sharing a login.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Permisyn to:

• Violate any law, or your AI provider’s own terms of service.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service or another customer’s data.
• Circumvent rate limits, plan limits, or authorization controls through means other than the API and settings we provide.

The one deliberate exception: our public /breakit arena explicitly invites adversarial testing against a live sandboxed instance of our own enforcement logic — that sanctioned arena, and only that arena, is where trying to break Permisyn is the intended use.

4. Plans, billing, and trials

New accounts start on the Free tier, no card required. Paid plans are billed by Stripe on the cadence you select (monthly or annual) and can be changed or canceled at any time from Settings; changes take effect according to Stripe’s standard proration rules. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

5. Your content and data

You retain all rights to the prompts, responses, and data that flow through your use of the service. We do not claim ownership over your content, and — as described in our Privacy Policy— we do not store the content of your AI calls by default. You’re responsible for having the rights to any data you send through the service, including through any AI provider you configure Permisyn to call on your behalf.

6. Signed receipts and public verification

A core part of the service is producing a cryptographically signed receipt for every authorized or denied call, and periodically anchoring a summary of your organization’s activity into a public transparency log. Anyone holding the right reference can verify that a receipt is genuine and unaltered without needing to trust Permisyn’s own dashboard. This is a deliberate product feature, not an accident — a receipt’s value as evidence depends on it being independently checkable, and that is by design not something Permisyn (or you) can quietly edit after the fact.

7. Intellectual property

Permisyn and its underlying software, design, and branding are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property law. These Terms grant you a limited right to use the service — they do not transfer ownership of the software to you.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not currently publish or guarantee a specific uptime commitment, and Permisyn should not be relied on as the sole safeguard for a use case where an AI provider outage or a Permisyn outage would cause serious harm. Support response commitments described on the pricing page (where they exist) apply to support responsiveness, not to service availability.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Permisyn will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

10. Termination

You may stop using the service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, including the acceptable-use section above. On termination, your access to the dashboard ends; see our Privacy Policy for how to request deletion of your account data.

11. Governing law

[To be finalized — the governing jurisdiction for these Terms depends on where the business is legally registered. Placeholder pending that decision; do not treat this section as final until it names an actual jurisdiction.]

12. Changes to these terms

If these Terms change materially, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, notify account owners by email.
